- To support the development of open education resources (OERs).
- To promote cooperative and collaborative research activities with government, education and private sector stakeholders.
- To conduct and disseminate high quality research and provide examples of leading evidence based practices across the sector.
- To provide leadership in developing and implementing models for distance education.
- To advise and contribute to government and private sector policy and decision making.

Steering Committee We have signed MoUs with our partners: University of New England (UNE), Charles Sturt University (CSU), Central Queensland University (CQUniversity), and the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). Representatives from these partners join the Director of DE Hub, Professor Belinda Tynan, on the DE Hub Steering Committee. The Steering Committee will propose collaborative DE Hub ventures, guide future DE Hub activities and ensure that DE Hub activities are in accordance with the policies, procedures, interests and goals of the institutional partners. Cross-institutional research projects will be called for and assessed by the Steering Committee and presented to the Reference Group for review and comment.

The Reference Group will provide external review, feedback, and advice on DE Hub activities and ensure that DE Hub activities are smart, sensible, and in line with the goals of the project.
