About

DEHub: Innovation in Distance Education –

The DEHub Research Institute has been established as a central agency for the development, facilitation and dissemination of information on best practices in distance education.

DEHub is made up of five leading distance education providers in Australia and New Zealand: University of New England, Charles Sturt University, University of Southern Queensland, Central Queensland University, and Massey University.

ODLAA: Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia –

ODLAA is a professional association for teachers, developers, researchers, consultants and administrators from Australia and overseas involved in open and distance learning.

ODLAA connects professionals in order to share experiences and disseminate information with respect to open and distance learning. Our members come from all educational sectors plus commercial training providers and training units in the corporate sector. They are involved in management, administration, design, development, research and teaching in multiple modes that may best be described as 'outside the traditional classroom'.

Invitation to the Education 2011-2021 Summit –

DEHub and ODLAA aim to bring together academics globally who are engaged in pedagogical research to work together collaboratively to address key issues in the field. DEHub takes a broad view that collaboration involves connecting, sharing and co-building of knowledge in a variety of global contexts amongst and with a range of researchers and practitioners. The Education 2011-2021: Global challenges and perspectives of blended and distance learning summit presents an opportunity for this connecting, sharing and co-building of knowledge.

The summit will be held at the Dockside Venue, Darling Harbour, Sydney, NSW, Australia, from 15 - 18 February, 2011, which provides spectacular views of the harbour and the city, is easily accessible from local accommodation and transportation points, and is only a short walk to Sydney CBD.

The summit has a focus on themes that underpin the DEHub objectives.

We specifically ask that submissions contribute to at least one of the following 11 themes:

  1. Distance Education Research and Development
  2. Distance Education Community and Open Learning
  3. Distance Education Learning and Teaching
  4. Global Perspectives of Blended and Distance Learning
  5. Distance Education Quality Assurance
  6. Corporate Involvement in Distance Education
  7. Distance Education Technologies and Transformations
  8. Innovation using technology in blended and distance learning contexts
  9. Strategic Collaboration and Partnerships in Distance Education
  10. Internalisation - impacts, issues and concerns for blended and distance education
  11. Leadership in Distance Education

On behalf of the DEHub team and ODLAA I warmly invite you to participate in the Education 2011 to 2021: Global challenges and perspectives of blended and distance learning summit and look forward to meeting you.

Professor Belinda Tynan
Director of DEHub.
